[Like most people] I am not just one thing: I am an architect, a designer, a runner, a free thinker, a soccer fan. I am even a dad. But what keeps everything together for me is the artist inside my head, my heart and my hands. Painting always makes me happy and in tune with the rest of the world.

It is through art that I can materialize my ideas, my dreams, my memories, my observations... everything and anything coming from inside. Set against the reality of my space and time; eventually coming together on the canvas or a piece of paper.

My cultural background is a very important element for sure. The memories of growing up in a place like Mexico will always influence my work. It may be a simple depiction, a new interpretation or just plain goofing with elements and ideas I get from there.

On a more broad level, I have always been interested in suffering, injustice and loneliness. I mean, it is everywhere, happens all the time; at times terrible, always a reminder of our human condition. I think it would be almost impossible for me not to make a reference to that in my work.

These days I keep exploring the idea of culture and identity, equality, beauty, the ironies and realities of the world we all live in.
